About Dr. Turk:

Thomas (Tom) Turk is a management professor at Chapman University, where he previously held the Leatherby Chair in Entrepreneurship. He joined Chapman University in 1992 after spending five years on the faculty at Texas A&M University. Dr. Turk obtained his Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of California, Irvine, in 1988.

His research encompasses corporate strategy, governance, and executive compensation, with publications in prestigious academic journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Economic Inquiry, Human Relations, Journal of Management, Journal of High Technology Management, Strategic Management Review, and Journal of Economics and Business. Additionally, his work on corporate governance, mergers, and hostile takeovers has been featured in "Corporate Governance" and "The Management of Corporate Acquisitions," both collections of articles by esteemed scholars.

Currently, Dr. Turk's research aims to enhance resource allocation by utilizing property rights theory within organizational management. Turk is a sought-after speaker in executive education programs for both public and private sectors. He regularly consults with businesses on strategic planning, change management, and executive compensation. Over his career, he has provided management training and consulting services to more than 100 clients, including notable companies like Ford Motor Company, Koch Industries, Time Warner Communications, Boise Cascade, Toyota, Marsh McLennan, Allergan, First American Financial, and various government, non-profit, and for-profit organizations. He also acts as an expert witness on issues related to top executive compensation and business valuation.

Dr. Turk's research and consulting work focus on helping firms streamline their operations and enhance their ability to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.
